Logic Is People

Do you ever see that? What I mean when I say that "logic is people" is that, you cannot transcend the aggregate of temperaments that make up a place. Whether it's you and a friend or relation. Or your community. Each person is akin to a cog, doing what they will (I can't think of a different metaphor). Doing that for which they're wired. Logic is people. And that in itself is the height of illogic. "...for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." (Matthew 12:34b)

For instance. Say you have someone who sees the world through a filter that emphasizes a particular trait. Be it sarcasm or laziness or efficiency. What about mercy or kindness and empathy or selflessness? Or greed? Think about the people you know and then think about the most salient aspect of their temperament. That's what will come out when the chips are down and when the going gets tough and also in the mundane, quotidian, boring routine that makes up most of our time on this earth. I'd wager to say that they bring this with them when they come into your presence. And I don't think I have to point to a purely spiritual means of explaining this away. Like their "aura" or whatever. Look at it deductively. Think about the motive from which they perform each and every action at hand. Why is someone the way they are? They don't think about it anymore, I'm guessing. But the outworking of each task carries with it the tinge of that substrate emotion. And this is what they leave behind when they go. These are the teeth in the cogs that make up the machine of which we are part.

"But Jesus called them unto Him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many." (Matthew 20:25-28)

Here's how this works out in practicality. The people in your life are the very ones God has brought around you to help mold and shape you into the person He wants you to be. As each person was made in His image and each one bears a part of Him, they will in turn help you along until they move along--or you do. So revel in their company. Pray for them. Help them. Love them. It's all going to work out. This is "logic", God's way.
