I judged a book by its cover—specifically by a phrase that appeared in the synopsis on the left flap of the front of the cover. What followed was a rumination on the act of reading a book as reconciled with the preconceived notions we bring when we open the cover—whether we’re influenced by it or not.
This post lays bare William Gibson’s Blue Ant Trilogy, released in the mid-2000’s. If you haven’t read these books, I suggest you start there, first. All but one secret is revealed.
I take my top five songs and discuss them at length. Videos included, I should say. Please note, however, that the music video, while well done in each case, is nothing like what I describe and what the song means to me.
